Hip Hip Hooray Layout

I am seriously in love with sketches and things that make scrapbooking easier. So, I bought a kit from Scrapbook Generation.  It came with 2 sketches and the supplies to make one of them. I added a few pages from my stash and was able to make both of them. There were a lot of scraps left over, so I decided to make another page with the scraps.
I decided to double up and enter the "bonus" layout in the Stuck On U Sketches sketch challenge this month.
I followed the sketch pretty well, I think. I loved the circle on the sketch. Instead of a solid circle, I used different size brads to comprise the circle. For the circle template, I used a salad plate and just pencilled in dots about every inch or so.  Then, I just added the brads to make the circle. I really like the way it turned out.
Thanks for looking!

Big Boy Layout

Okay, so I've been gone a hundred years, or a year and a half. You know, one or the other. :-) I've been scrapbooking, so I do have things to post. I'll try to post more frequently in the future.

One of the things I've been doing recently is participating in the Desk to Done challenges with Iclassygirl. The premise is that each day you spend 5 minutes choosing one facet of your layout and at the end of the week, you have a layout. One day you choose pictures, the next papers, and so on. I'm loving the challenge. On the final day, she adds bling and makes the page really snazzy. She has a Facebook group and everything. I'm telling you, I'm loving it! It would be great if you'd join us.

A Challenge, a Mistake and the Final Result

Have you ever made a mistake that turned out to be better than you intended? It happened to me with this layout. I started with a sketch from iClassygirl

Unfortunately, I hated the way it worked out. It looked unbalanced and unfinished and very amateurish. So, I thought, "I think I'll try my hand at doodling. I mean, I do the faux stitching all the time. How hard can it be, right?" Famous last words. I started with a little doodle in the corner coming from the buttons. HATED IT! Now I had nothing to lose, so I went nuts trying to fix it. I just started doodling long swirls and you know what? I loved the way it turned out.

Scrapbooking is such a personal craft, so what you like may not be another person's cup of tea, but if you like it, it's great! This page makes me happy!

Superheroes Paper Piecings

Captain America

Hello again! I am so excited to show you these new paper piecings today! My dear sweet nerdy husband loves superheroes, so as a result, I'm always on the lookout for anything superhero-related. I made these for a custom order and I love the way they turned out. They were so fun to make

Batman

According to my husband, anyone could be Batman. He has no super powers, so anyone could assume his identity. Just something to keep in mind when you decide on your secret identity. . .

The Incredible Hulk
I love his big feet. He is so cute in person.

Spiderman

My husband tells me that these 4 characters will never appear in a movie together. All of them but one are Marvel characters. I can't remember which one isn't. If it bothers you, you might have to Google it. You can leave me a comment and tell me which one is the odd man superhero out.

I also have Flash Gordon (Think Sheldon Cooper.), Superman and Robin. If you're interested in purchasing any of these, please let me know. I'm selling them for $4.00 each, plus PayPal and exact shipping.

Have a great day!

12 Months Birthday Album

Once again, I have to apologize for not posting more often. I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I'm going to try to post something at least once a week, so you all know I'm still here.

Today, I have a birthday album I did for my son. It's one of my favorite projects ever. The theme for his 1st birthday party was a farm. I made barn-shaped invitations. I did paper-pieced animal picks to stick in the farm-themed food. And I made this album and hung the pages individually from a twine clothesline. I loved how it turned out! Unfortunately, it was too hot and we had to bring the party indoors. Oh well, we had a good time and the birthday boy was happy. That's all that matters, right?

Without further ado, here's my birthday boy's album.

Newborn ( I wish I had a lighter picture. He was such a sweet newborn.)

One Month (He didn't gain weight at first. That was scary. After numerous doctor's visits and lots of prayers, he started gaining weight and getting healthy. Thank God)

Two Months (He looks so solemn in this picture.)

Three Months ( This picture just makes me smile. He was so cute in his monkey hat.)

Four Months (Doesn't he have the sweetest eyes?)

Five Months (Sitting in his high chair)

Six Months (He got a walker and he was loving it!)

Seven Months (Such a happy baby!)

Eight Months (I am loving those happy eyes.)

Nine Months (He was already starting to need a haircut.)

Ten Months (This was his first time in a swing. He laughed out loud. It was adorable.)

Eleven Months (Look how big he got.)

Twelve Months (He was feeding himself oatmeal. It was too cute!)

Well, that's my project. Hope you enjoy! Have a great day!

Countdown to Fun Layout

Goodness sake! I don't know what's happened to me. I've been crafting, but apparently I forgot to blog about them. Must. Remember. To. Post. Here. Maybe I should put it on my calendar. Maybe I should use the info in this article.

I thought I'd share a new layout I gave my mom for Mother's Day. Actually, it's not a layout, exactly. I didn't attach the pieces, so she could rearrange it any way she wanted. Here are some close-up  pictures.

The Rocket
The Planet

Anyway, that's my long overdue post. Hope you enjoyed. Have a great day!

Little Monsters Set

Please tell me this picture looks like a rainbow. It does, right? I tried when I was taking pictures to be clever and make it look like a rainbow.

Anyway, the challenge at the Little Scraps of Heaven Design Team blog was to use only scraps to make a project. I decided to use my scraps to make a Little Monsters set. I actually had enough scraps to make 2 sets. I have a LOT of scrap paper.  You can find the pattern here.

Here's a closer look at each of the monsters.

The Red One

The Orange One

The Yellow One

The Green One

The Blue One

The Indigo One

I put them in rainbow order. You know, ROY G. BIV, except I didn't use violet. I love the way they turned out. You can find this set in my Etsy shop here.

You know what? I won $20 in free patterns for entering the challenge. Here's what I'm getting for free!
Cute, right?  You can find the pattern here. Stay tuned for some cool projects using this file pretty soon. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
